North York is one of the best places to live in Toronto, with great schools, parks, subway access and every kind of home, from high-rise condos to large family houses. N&N Brothers Moving is based right here at 200 Gateway Blvd, so North York moves are what we know best. Here is a guide to some of the most popular North York neighbourhoods and how to plan a smooth move, from your local Toronto and North York movers.
Popular North York Neighbourhoods
Willowdale and Yonge-Sheppard
Willowdale is full of condos along Yonge Street near North York Centre and Sheppard-Yonge station, plus detached homes on the side streets. Condo moves here need elevator bookings and careful timing.
Don Mills
Don Mills mixes mid-century homes with newer condos near Shops at Don Mills. It is close to the Don Valley Parkway, which makes moves in and out quick.
Bayview Village
Bayview Village has large family homes and condos near Bayview Village shopping centre and the subway. Bigger homes here often need a 3 or 4-person crew.
York Mills and the Bridle Path
These are some of Toronto’s largest homes, with long driveways, grand staircases, fine furniture and pianos. We bring extra padding and take our time.
Downsview and Bathurst Manor
These areas have a mix of bungalows, semis and new condo communities. They are close to Highway 401 and Allen Road for easy access.
Tips for a Smooth North York Move
- Avoid Highway 401 rush hour: early morning moves save time and money.
- Book your condo elevator early: North York Centre buildings fill up fast at month-end.
- Measure big furniture: check sofas and wardrobes against doors, halls and elevators.
- Declutter first: fewer items means a faster, cheaper move.
- Choose a local mover: a North York office means less travel time on your bill.
